Thank You to So Many

When we came home, we found a perfectly mowed lawn thanks to Trevor Shannon.  Kelli's dad, who had been keeping the boys for the two previous days had dinner ready for us.  By the way, Don also got my boys to love baseball!  I owe him a great deal just for that!  Kelli's brother Cory and his wife Britney took care of the boys the previous weekend.  Alan and Michele Seibert took them for the whole first week.  Alan took them to the Cascades and to a Red Sox game.

Kelli's sister Kim brought us dinner on Wednesday.  Jackie Boyd, our real estate agent and friend, brought dinner last night; and Holly brought dinner tonight.  Our neighbor Gretchen is bringing dinner on Monday.  Our ex-neighbor Tracie is going to take the boys one evening, so Kelli can have a breather.  Kim and her husband Paul took the boys all day today to a family get together at their parents' river cabin.  That was really great because Kelli had a chance to take it easy... easier.

Emily Norman brought us frozen dinners before we left.  Robert and Karen across the street got out mail when it was all delivered one day before we got home.  Bryan and Marie took care of the boys when we went to Johns Hopkins for two pre-op appointments.  My son Seth's in-laws Mike and Elli let us leave our car at their house as well as hosting a big family dinner.  They also picked us up at the hospital and had a cooler of food and drinks for our trip home.  My son Seth and his wife Claire donated Marriott points for Kelli's hotel.  My daughter Moriah went to the store for us when we got home.  My son Ben picked us up at the hotel at 5:30 a.m. and sat with Kelli as the surgery started before others arrived.

My team at school and the English Department gave is food cards and other gifts before we left.  We received so many cards from friends, ex- and present neighbors as well as from members of Bethany Christian Church, the church that my son Ben pastors.  Many members of Westhampton Christian Church
have sent cards and offered all sorts of support.

I am sure that I am leaving someone out, and I am sorry.  There are others like student Matt Flowers who organized two prayer meetings for me.  Young Life Director Jeff Lakin has been including me in prayer for some time at our Monday morning meetings as I know Fellowship Community Church has been doing.  I am on more church's prayer lists that I could imagine.

Thank you to so many people who reach out to me and my family! You have made the journey so much better!

Jeff Lakin picked up Kelli's medicine at the pharmacy and overnighted it to her at the Courtyard in Baltimore.

  1. Trevor is more than happy to help you - he definitely feels led to do so and feels that this is the LEAST that he can do! Please email me when the yard needs another mowing...Trevor is ready to take care of it for the summer :)
