CT Scan and MRI

This afternoon I drank a bunch of barium and submitted to a CT Scan followed by an MRI.  This morning I received a call from the imaging center saying that they procedures were authorized at Johns Hopkins but not here in Roanoke.  A quick call to Anthem by me got that straightened out.  It is a good thing that someone is watching what is going on.  I made several calls last week between Johns Hopkins and Anthem making sure that the authorization was made.  They told me it was, but I did not know that authorizations are location specific.

I arrived at 2:30 and left about 4:50.  By the time I got home, Dr. Hemphill by PCP called to tell me the results.  The imaging center told me it would take about 24 hours for results.  She said that everything looked good without any significant changes since the last scan.  I will ask Dr. Schoenberg more specifically about the original tumor and such.  I was just taking it in when Dr. Hemphill called.  I thought she was very nice to let me know that quickly - and especially since she was not the doctor who ordered the scans.

We leave for Johns Hopkins for biopsies after school on Wednesday.  The Courtyard Marriott was full this time, so we are staying a few blocks away at the Fairfield Inn.
