If you ever travel to Baltimore's Inner Harbor area, you might want to check out the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. It is the first green hotel in Baltimore. It also is striking for its combination of new, bright colors and design combined with heritage. We got there late, as usual, though, so we were not able to enjoy any restaurants or other sights.
The good news is that Dr. Schoenberg said that the bladder was perfect and that the chemo did exactly what it was intended to do. I asked him if that meant he wanted me to keep the bladder. His quick retort was, "No, I want you to live!" As I said before, the surgery seems to be a foregone conclusion.
Dr. Schoenberg's conclusion was particularly comforting because there was something on the CT scan that caused some concern. He totally discounted it. Later this evening, I was talking to another bladder cancer patient who is four years out from his surgery. He still gets scans as a part of his follow-up, and he gets the exact same comments on his scans that I had on mine. His doctor also discounts those comments.
We need to decide if we want to go back to JH for a session Q & A with Dr. Schoenberg, or if we want to just show up on the day of surgery. He said it was up to us. However, we will need to decide quickly as there is not much time left. He does that kind of thing on Mondays, and there are only two left.
"Perfect bladder"!!!
