Back from Minneapolis

This morning we got up at 4 a.m. after two, wonderful, intense days.  We had to run from one terminal to another in Detroit to make our connection, and our suitcase with all the conference materials is lost somewhere.  I sure hope it arrives tomorrow.

Steven Curtis Chapman told Kelli where the bathroom was, and she didn't realize who he was.  She did get to hug Tom Davis and speak to him.  Our friends and traveling companions were able to speak to author John Piper.  In addtion, we heard great music and incredibly moving stories of pain and triumph concerning caring for orphans.  We learned about existing programs and questions we should be asking ourselves about the direction we want to go.  There were many practical sessions about organization and others about nurturing orphans.  It was an awesome conference!

We now have a great deal of work to do trying to assimilate all we learned and convert it into the recommendations that we will make to the church.
