If you did not catch yesterday's update, the chemo center called to ask me to come in Thursday for the treatment. They were concerned about the forecast of snow. By leaving school a few minutes early and dropping the boys with a baby sitter, we were able to get to Lewis-Gale in time for the 3 p.m. appointment.
Besides getting the Gemzar, I also got an IV bag of steroids and some "cleansing fluids" as well as an IV bag of anti-nausea meds plus a shot in the IV of anit-nausea meds. So far I feel quite well. The only thing was the sleepless night that I also experienced with the first round.
I am hopeful that I have my rhythm now and know what I can do as far as getting through a work day.
One other bit of good news is that my white blood cell count is good. Carol said that they look at 3,000 as a problem, and my count is 6,700. Of course, I don't know what that really means, but it looks good to me, and she was happy about it.
