Quite shortly after we all became aware of Ray's cancer, and took a deep breath through the panic, Ray's son, Seth, suggested Ray read the book, "It's Not About the Bike," by Lance Armstrong. Ray's still reading it, but is captivated and takes it with him wherever he goes even if there's virtually no chance of being able to sit down and read. Seth said, he has read the #1 bestseller himself four times already. Clearly, it should be on all our reading lists!Without any communication that I know of between the two brothers, Ben surprised us all with LIVESTRONG bracelets in our stockings not two days later. "Livestrong" is Lance Armstrong's motto for not giving up, but taking the challenges head on, for being a survivor. We now all wear this yellow band on our wrists in honor of Lance and Ray, whom we hope both, with God's help and healing, will define and demonstrate what it means to be a survivor.
