Ray's not the only one lounging around!
He keeps having these random shooting pains in different places in his body and that catch him unawares. My mom said that it's the chemo blasting out the free roaming cancer cells. KA-POW!
The only other side effect his experiencing right now is his food tasting weird. Some things seem fairly normal: his ice cream and breakfast toast, for example. Then other things about make him gag: sunflower seeds will no longer be on his menu, that's for sure. We're working on keeping his flavors kind of low key. He loves potatoes and salad, so we're already set on side dishes!! Throw a little chicken in there, and he has a good meal that doesn't bother his stomach or his tastebuds (for now).
The crumby aspect of it all is that chemo is cumulative, so the side effects get worse each time, and more issues arise. We're SO GRATEFUL though to have the sweetest nurses and doctor on our side. They tell us to call anytime we need them and are so good about really nursing Ray back to health. In fact! I told him I *had* to go with him to all his local chemo visits because the nurses just dote on him and some of them are super-pretty. You know how I can't leave that man alone . . . *laughs* I'm kidding.
Anyway, Ray is such a on-the-go kind of man, that I'm actually enjoying having him around with impromptu snuggling on the couch in the middle of the day. That's one silver lining, right?
We hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday.
